Mini Mall shortlisted for Rotterdam Architecture Award 2013

The MINI MALL in the Hofbogen has been selected for the shortlist of the Rotterdam Architecture Prize 2013. This project is one of the 25 contenders for the prizes of both the professional jury and the audience. Before September 20th, the professionals and the public were invited to submit buildings to vie for the Rotterdam Architecture Prize in 2013. The theme was Transformation. The MINI MALL is a former station which is part of the 1.9 km long monumental railway viaduct Hofbogen. The first seven arches of Hofplein Station were transformed into MINI MALL, a shopping mall for creative entrepreneurs. The purpose of this conversion was to emphasize the original qualities of the building and to embed it into the urban fabric.
